Millonario Solera XO

Millonario Solera XO is a Peruvian rum from the Hacienda Agrícola de Chiclayo, built in a solera system where older and younger rums are blended together over time. As with most soleras, any number on the label points to the oldest component rather than a guaranteed age, so it is best understood as a solera blend rather than a fixed age statement.

This is openly a sweetened, dessert-style rum, and the copy will not pretend otherwise. The molasses spirit is soft and rounded, and the dosage pushes banana, vanilla, brown sugar and caramel to the front, with honeyed wood carrying a long, sweet, almost syrupy finish. At 40% it is gentle and silky, made for sipping after dinner or stirring into sweet long drinks. Anyone chasing a dry, spirit-forward rum should look elsewhere; this one leans fully into smooth and sweet, and does it well.
