Takamaka Koko is Takamaka’s Rum Liqueur made by infusing their white rum (Rum Blanc) with pure coconut extract. It’s coconut forward but not overly sweet, designed for easy tropical serves like pineapple highballs or a lazy Piña Colada shortcut.

Description
Koko sits in Takamaka’s Seychelles Series and starts with their Rum Blanc as the base. The concept is exactly what it says on the label: white rum infused with coconut. Compared with a standard spiced rum, this is closer to a rum based liqueur, meaning the flavour emphasis comes from the infusion rather than wood development, and the lower bottling strength keeps it soft and approachable in mixed drinks.
Production is straightforward: Takamaka take their white rum and add coconut natural essences, using coconut extract as the core flavour driver. From a sensory chemistry point of view, coconut character is carried by lactone style aromatics and sweet creamy volatiles that read as coconut flesh, coconut water, and coconut cream rather than toasted oak. The rum base provides the alcoholic structure and a light vanilla toned backdrop, but the profile is intentionally clean and uncluttered.
On the nose, expect clean coconut, light vanilla, and a fresh tropical sweetness rather than heavy confectionery. The palate is coconut led and smooth, with restrained sweetness for the category and a light rum warmth underneath. The finish stays gentle, coconut lingering with a mild vanilla echo, and it doesn’t collapse into thick syrupy sugar the way many coconut liqueurs do.
