This Glendullan was bottled by Anam na h-Alba, a 12 year old, distilled in 2010, from cask 144, at 57.4%, one of 292 bottles. Glendullan is a fresh, grassy Speyside malt of orchard fruit and a malty sweetness. It runs long fermentations and a slow distillation for a green, grassy, lightly fruity spirit. The founding firm merged into Macdonald Greenlees and was absorbed by DCL in 1926, a forerunner of Diageo.

It was run slowly off the spirit still, shaping a green, malty Speyside character. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, vanillin and a soft coconut under the malt. In integration coconut and vanilla knit with the malt, the pear softening towards a creamy honey. Years in oak deepen the spirit to gold, the body growing rounder with time. A light, clean texture from the spirit carries through the maturation. Because the long fermentation keeps the spirit fresh and grassy, the cask shows clearly with time. Maturation runs slow and even in the warehouses at Dufftown.

Bottled at a cask strength 57.4%, it is concentrated. A grassy, malty sweetness, lifted by a soft oak. A light orchard fruit and a soft spice give it shape. A medium finish carries a soft honey. This is a green, malty Speyside single malt.
