An official release of Glen Scotia, a 7 year old, at 53.9%. Glen Scotia is a coastal, briny Campbeltown malt, founded in 1832 on the Kintyre peninsula. Its Victoriana and single cask releases have won the distillery wide acclaim.

It was made on Crosshill Loch water in the heart of Campbeltown, building a maritime character of sea salt and oil. Maturation came in a Port cask, layered over the briny Glen Scotia make. At an extractive age eugenol lends a clove note and lactones a coconut, the spirit fresh, oily and coastal. The cool, salt laden Campbeltown air gives a slow, coastal maturation in the warehouses. It was founded in 1832 as Scotia, one of the survivors of Campbeltown's Victorian whisky boom. The slow distillation and shell and tube condensers give the oily Glen Scotia body. Maturation in the Campbeltown warehouses, by the sea, lends a coastal edge.

At its natural 53.9% it is concentrated. A briny, oily coastal fruit, with red berry, plum and a dry spice from the cask. The mouthfeel is oily, the fruit carried on a briny body. Citrus, salt and a soft oak see out the finish. This is a maritime Campbeltown single malt.
