A Singleton of Dufftown, a distillery bottling, at 40%. Dufftown is a nutty, malty Speyside single malt from the malt whisky capital of the world. Its single malt has been sold as The Singleton of Dufftown since 2006, mainly in the UK and Europe.

It was worked through the stills with a creamed yeast for a malty, fruity make, for a soft, nutty, fruit driven make. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, oak lactones lending vanilla and a little coconut. Without an age statement, vanillin sweetness and a nutty malt point to good years in oak. A gentle maturation suits the smooth make, the nutty malt growing richer with time. In recent years the ferment was lengthened and the wort run clear for a grassier make. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the smooth Speyside spirit. The Singleton of Dufftown is matured in a mix of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry oak. Years in oak round the spirit, the green apple and malt deepening to honey.

Reduced to 40%, it is mellow. A smooth, nutty Speyside fruit, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A dried fruit and a soft oak give it depth. It finishes smooth, nutty and approachable. This is the Singleton of Dufftown in single malt form.
