This official Dalmore, a 19 year old, at 47%. Dalmore was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson and long run by the Mackenzies. The rich, dried fruit style runs through the core range, from the twelve year old upward.

Distilled for the thick, full bodied spirit Dalmore is known for, for a full, opulent Highland spirit. A sherry cask held it, the wood lending raisin, fig, orange and a coffee depth. At oxidative maturity aldehydes and esters lend dried fruit while ellagitannins add a drying, tannic grip. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and coconut over the rich malt. Maturation in the cool north keeps the rich spirit balanced over the years. Its long time master distiller Richard Paterson, known as The Nose, shaped the rich house style. The slow loss of the angel's share concentrates the rich, sherried core over the years.

At a natural 47% it is full and honeyed. Dried fruit, orange and a treacly malt, with dried fruit, chocolate and orange from the cask. A dried fruit and a chocolate depth give it weight. A full, sherried finish ends on orange and dark chocolate. This is a rich, full bodied Highland single malt.
