    700ml / 67.4%

This Craigellachie was bottled by the Pitlochry bottler Signatory Vintage, a 10 year old, at 67.4%. Malt, tropical fruit and a savoury oil fill the glass, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. It keeps its old fashioned worm tub condensers for a heavy, robust spirit. This is a meaty, tropical Speyside single malt.

A Craigellachie of a 10 year old chosen by the Pitlochry bottler Signatory Vintage, distilled in 2012, from cask 900694, bottled at 67.4%, one of 610 bottles. Craigellachie sits above Telford's famous Spey bridge, a Speyside distillery of real muscle. Its malt has long been the muscular heart of the White Horse blend.

Worked through stills and worm tubs for a muscular, oily spirit, to build a robust, sulphurous, full bodied character. A sherry butt held it, the wood lending raisin and walnut to the robust spirit. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin settling into vanilla as ethyl esters lend a riper, tropical fruit over the meaty malt. The heavy, oily make is prized by blenders for the backbone it gives White Horse. It keeps its worm tub condensers, an old fashioned set up that builds a heavy, meaty, sulphurous spirit.

At cask strength 67.4% it is full bodied. Meaty malt, tropical fruit and a waxy oil, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. Soft tropical fruit and a waxy malt sit behind the cask. A long, oily finish carries a tropical depth. This is the worm tub malt of Craigellachie.
