Bottled by Hunter Laing, this Tullibardine, a 25 year old release from 1992, drawn from cask HL 14450 and bottled at 46.1%. A release of 147 bottles. Tullibardine was built in 1949 at the foot of the Ochil Hills; its honeyed malt has a quiet following. Its malt also goes into the Highland Queen blend, another Picard brand.

Distilled in copper stills on Ochil Hills spring water, giving the light, fruity spirit at its heart. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, lending honey and vanilla. At this age it is rounded and mellow, the fruit folded into a honeyed body. Sherry wood suits the soft make, lending dried fruit and a nutty depth. The distillery sits just off the A9 near Gleneagles, one of Scotland's more accessible. Under French wine ownership the distillery has leaned into its cask finishes. The Murray and Custodian's Collections gather its older and rarer bottlings.

At a natural 46.1% it is full and honeyed. The refill oak lending honey and vanilla runs under apple, honey and a gentle spice. It is fruity and soft, the fruit and oak well matched. Toffee, honey and a soft oak see out the finish. This is a honeyed Highland single malt from Perthshire.
