This official Tomatin single malt, bottled at 43%. Set in the Highland hills south of Inverness, Tomatin has made single malt since 1897. Water comes from the Allt na Frithe, the burn of the deer, in the Monadhliath hills.

It was worked through onion stills for a light, fruity spirit, for the soft, fruity Highland make Tomatin is known for. A virgin oak cask gave bold vanilla, spice and a little coconut. Carrying no age, it leans on apple, pear and a soft honey. Refill oak lets the fruity Tomatin character lead, apple over honey. It closed in 1906 and reopened in 1909, finding its feet over the following decades. The Antiquary blend came into the group through the blender J and W Hardie. Malt is bought in, the distillery's own floor maltings having closed in the 1980s. For most of its life the distillery rarely ran to its full capacity. The make is light and fruity, easy to like and easy to drink.

Reduced to 43%, it is soft. A mellow, fruity character, and the virgin oak gives vanilla, baking spice and a little coconut. Soft orchard fruit and honey sit behind the cask. The close is soft, fruit over gentle oak. This is the softer side of the Highlands.
