An official Longrow single malt, a 21 year old and bottled at 46%. Just 3600 bottles were filled. In Mitchell family hands since 1828, Springbank is one of only three distilleries left in Campbeltown. Water comes from Crosshill Loch, the barley malted on the distillery's own floors.

The spirit was given Longrow's double distillation of heavily peated barley, and worm tub cooled in the old way. A sherry butt held it, the wood lending raisin and walnut. Long ageing brings an oily depth, candied fruit and a mellow coastal salt. The oily, robust make carries cask flavour while holding its own character. Springbank, Longrow and Hazelburn each show a different face of the one distillery. The open larch washbacks are a rare survival in modern Scotch. The distillery has become a place of pilgrimage for whisky enthusiasts. Kintyre's damp, mild climate suits a long and gentle maturation. The old town of Campbeltown once rivalled Speyside as Scotland's whisky heart.

At 46% it is soft, oily and coastal. Dried fruit and a vanilla oak meets a robust peat reek over brine. The mouthfeel is oily, the fruit carried on a salty body. Salt and oily fruit see out a long finish. This is Springbank's heavily peated Longrow.
