Hunter Laing bottles this 11 Year Old in its Hepburn's Choice range, a 2009 vintage in ex-Bourbon, an outturn of 756 bottles. Miltonduff, the fresh, floral Speyside distilled beside Pluscarden Abbey near Elgin and long bound for the Ballantine's blend.

Eleven years in a bourbon barrel brought balance, lignin-derived vanilla and a growing fruity-ester sweetness folding into the grassy, floral make.

At 46% it shows chocolate, citrus, fresh fruit and honey over the floral body. A Hepburn's Choice 11.
