Loch Lomond Grainstorm

This is the peated Grainstorm, a Loch Lomond single malt built around smoke and fruit. The distillery makes both peated and unpeated spirit on the same site, and Grainstorm sets the two against each other across a pair of releases.

Matured in ex-Bourbon, the low-tannin oak lends vanilla beneath a peated malt whose smoke is carried through the distillery's varied stills.

At 46% it shows wood smoke over orchard fruit and vanilla, guaiacol and phenols from the peat driving the reek. The smoky half of Grainstorm.
