Description

The Coffey Still bottling is one of Loch Lomond's true oddities, a peated single grain. The distillery is almost unique in Scotland for making grain alongside malt, and rarer still for peating it, the smoke carried through its continuous still.

Distilled from a 100% malted-barley mash through the column and matured in ex-Bourbon, the spirit comes off light and clean, taking the cask's vanilla readily.

At 46% it shows a medicinal smoke and a rubbery, coal-gas edge over fresh fruit and citrus, guaiacol from the peat driving the reek. A genuinely unusual smoky grain.
