The Scotch Malt Whisky Society grew from a 1978 cask-sharing syndicate into the club founded in 1983 at The Vaults in Leith. This bottling is a 19 year old Laphroaig, from cask 29.260, laid down in 1999 and drawn off in 2019., part of the A visceral, elemental experience series.

Held in Oloroso for nineteen years, the cask steeps the deep south-shore peat in dried fruit.

At 56.9%, undiluted, with fig, walnut and dark raisin from the sherry. The profile runs to a sherried character, smoke, dried fruit, tobacco, honey, a medicinal edge.
