Description

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society has bottled single casks under code numbers since its 1983 founding in Leith. The cask was filled in 1998 and bottled in 2022, a 24 year old Laphroaig, from cask 29.289., from the Gusto and gratitude range.

An ex-Bourbon cask and twenty-four years shape the deep south-shore peat.

Bottled at cask strength, 54.4%, soft vanilla comes from the ex-Bourbon. Tarry smoke and sea-salt, unmistakably south-shore Islay.
