Description

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society grew from a 1978 cask-sharing syndicate into the club founded in 1983 at The Vaults in Leith. Filled in 1998 and bottled 2018, the whisky is a 19 year old Laphroaig, from cask 29.253., from the Drifting and dreaming range.

Held in ex-Bourbon for nineteen years, the oak settles Laphroaig's seaweed-and-smoke peat.

At its natural 57.1%, the bourbon oak lends vanilla. A big medicinal peat, iodine and ash through the finish.
