Description
A.D. Rattray traces its name to a firm established in 1868 and today releases single casks four times a year in its Cask Collection. This 12 year old Williamson, from cask 800120, was distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2018., from the Individual Cask Release range. The Williamson name marks a teaspooned Laphroaig, a cask carrying a token spoonful of another malt that disqualifies the single-malt label. It honours Bessie Williamson, the first woman to own a Scotch distillery, who ran Laphroaig from 1954.
Ex-Bourbon and twelve years round peat heavy with tar and brine.
At 56.4%, undiluted, with vanilla from years in the bourbon barrel. The medicinal smoke is unmistakable, brine and tar behind it.
