Description

Batch 001, from 2009, was the first numbered release of Laphroaig's 10 Year Old Cask Strength, the series that replaced the old Red Stripe. The undiluted, non-chill-filtered flagship.

The ten year old, undiluted from ex-Bourbon, is weightier and oilier than the 40%.

At 57.8% the medicinal peat hits hard, vanilla softening the base. The palate runs to smoke, a medicinal edge, a medicinal edge, new wood, a kippery note, tobacco and citrus.
