Brodir, Norse for brother, names this 2012 cask strength 13 year old, an outturn of 2,000 bottles. It leans bright and mineral rather than sweet, citrus and fresh fruit to the fore.

Thirteen years in ex-Bourbon held the spirit's youthful lift, the long Laphroaig fermentation behind the fruit.

At 50.5% the peat is smoky and clean, a coal-gas edge running under the citrus and honey, vanilla from the oak rounding it off.
