Description

Take the flagship 10 and give it time in Oloroso, and the result is this Sherry Oak Finish: the medicinal smoke still leads, but now there is dried fruit folded through it. A sweeter, rounder Laphroaig for those who find the standard bottling austere.

The Oloroso is where the character shifts. Its melanoidins read as fig and raisin, and at 48% they have the weight to stand up to Laphroaig's peat rather than be buried by it.

The smoke turns oilier and the iodine softens, leather and old wood appearing alongside the sherried fruit. The peat is pure Laphroaig, kilned over Islay peat on the distillery's own floors.
