Description

Murray McDavid bottled this 1984 Lagavulin, a 13 year old single cask from ex-Bourbon cask MM 4493, bottled in 1998 for Germany. Lagavulin sits at Lagavulin Bay between Laphroaig and Ardbeg, founded in 1816, and rarely reaches independent bottlers.

The spirit is heavily peated and distilled at a deliberate, slow pace. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, thirteen years carry a vivid smoke.

Bottled at 46%. The smoke rises from guaiacol and phenols, with vanilla from the ex-Bourbon. A rare older independent single cask Lagavulin.
