Description

This cask strength 12 Years Old was the 2018 Special Release, matured in American oak. Lagavulin, founded in 1816, is the middle voice of southern Islay's peated trio.

Lagavulin's slow distillation builds the depth its malt is known for. Bottled undiluted after twelve years in American oak, it offers a vivid coastal smoke.

At cask strength, 57.8%. The smoke comes off the phenols and guaiacol, vanilla from the American oak. Notes take in citrus, fresh fruit, smoke, a medicinal edge, a coal-gas note and a fragrant lift. A cask strength Special Release.
