Description
The fourth Offerman Edition takes Lagavulin's collaboration with actor Nick Offerman into rum, an 11 year old finished in Caribbean rum casks and released in 2024. Lagavulin was founded in 1816 and sits between its Kildalton neighbours on Islay.
Lagavulin's pot stills run slowly, building a dense peated character. Matured in ex-Bourbon and finished in Caribbean rum casks, the rum wood adds a molasses sweetness to the smoke.
Bottled at 46%. The phenols, guaiacol among them, drive the smoke, the rum cask lending molasses and a soft sweetness. Tasting notes take in smoke, vanilla, honey, citrus, a malt extract note and a nutty edge. A rum-finished Offerman Lagavulin.
