Douglas McGibbon & Co. is the Douglas Laing family subsidiary used as the bottling vehicle for the Provenance range. The McGibbon entity was originally established in 1947, predating the main Douglas Laing & Co. by a year. The DMG cask reference prefix on this bottling identifies the Douglas McGibbon era cask numbering, with cask 8575 sitting in the early to mid period of the Provenance series following its 2000 launch. The release captures Arran from the 2000 distillation year, when Lochranza was around five years into commercial production.

Spirit was matured at Lochranza for twelve years in a single cask, with the cask wood type a refill American oak hogshead consistent with the Provenance template. Bottled by Douglas McGibbon at the standard 46% Provenance strength without chill filtration and without added colour.

The 2000 vintage falls in the period when Lochranza's production had stabilised under the operational template that has held since. Twelve years of maturation in refill Bourbon wood delivers measured cask integration: vanillin and whisky lactones from the American oak, with the Arran citric and fresh fruit signature remaining the dominant flavour driver underneath. The 46% bottling preserves the textural fullness of the unfiltered presentation.
