Žufánek OMG Oh My Gin

Made at the Zufanek family distillery, OMG holds the distinction of being the first officially distilled herbal gin in the Czech Republic. Its character comes from an unusually wide and well-travelled bill: exotic grains of paradise from Africa, fragrant lavender from Provence, and local lemon balm and small-leaved linden. The method is patient, sixteen botanicals macerated in base spirit then run through a triple distillation, and in the London Dry manner no sugar is added afterward.

The nose is gently floral over intense juniper, with spice notes beneath. The palate brings juniper, coriander, calamus and angelica root, then opens to grains of paradise and lavender flowers, dry and layered throughout. The finish runs long. This is one to enjoy neat or over a single large cube, where its complexity has room to unfold.
