Description
Yellow Spot is part of the Spot range, the single pot still whiskeys that grew from the Mitchell and Son bonding tradition, distilled at Midleton in Co. Cork. This is a single cask, number 66887, distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2020 at cask strength for an event, a run of 624 bottles.
The whiskey matured for thirteen years in ex-bourbon barrels and Malaga wine casks, the fortified Spanish wood adding sweet dried fruit and a raisined depth to the pot still spirit. Triple distilled from malted and unmalted barley, it shows the hallmark pot still spice of clove, ginger and black pepper over an oily texture, undiluted at 57% and left without dilution to carry its full weight.
