Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021

Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021 is a no age statement single malt from Suntory's distillery in the valley of Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture, where soft humidity and the meeting of three rivers shape the spirit. Among the distillery's annual editions, this release turns to mizunara, the Japanese oak most closely tied to the house signature.

Maturation in mizunara casks gives the unmistakable sandalwood and incense notes of Japanese oak, laid over the distillery's ripe orchard fruit, vanilla and a warm spice. The porous, slow giving wood lends a temple wood fragrance that sets it apart from the bourbon led editions, the perfume deepening as it sits in the glass. Bottled at 43%, it is soft and aromatic, a yearly expression built around the wood that defines Japanese whisky and the distillery's own signature.
