Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve

Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve is the no age statement core bottling from Suntory's distillery in the valley of Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture, Japan's first malt distillery and the house that set the standard for the country's single malts. Without an age statement, it leans on cask selection rather than years to build the Yamazaki signature of layered orchard fruit and balance.

The whisky draws on Bordeaux red wine casks alongside Oloroso sherry, an unusual pairing that shapes the profile. The wine casks bring bright red berry and a fresh lift, the Oloroso adds dried fruit and a chocolate depth, and beneath them sits the distillery's familiar fresh fruit and vanilla. At 43% it is rounded and approachable, an accessible way into the Yamazaki house style without losing its character.
