Matured in ex-bourbon wood, the nose carries caramel, cocoa, tobacco and prunes, while the palate turns bitter over molasses, prunes and dried apricot, with a faintly smoky finish. Honest drinkers find this a sweetish, somewhat one-note British-style Guyanese rum where a bitter edge runs through the dark fruit.
