Worthy Park Silver Rum

Worthy Park Silver Rum is the unaged white expression from Worthy Park, the single-estate St. Catherine distillery known for clean, precise, 100% pot-still Jamaican rum. Worthy Park draws its esters from fermentation alone rather than dunder or muck, so even unaged it reads polished and moderate rather than wild.

Distilled on the estate's modern Forsyths pot still from molasses and left unaged, it shows floral notes, banana and tropical fruit with a nougat-and-caramel sweetness and an earthy edge, finishing on vegetal, fruity and citrus notes. On its own it takes some getting used to, but that is not really its purpose: its strength lies in mixed drinks, where the pot-still fruit cuts cleanly through. Bottled at 40%, this is a bright, characterful white Jamaican built first and foremost for cocktails.
