Description
Dràm Mòr is the Dumbarton independent run by Viktorija and Kenny Macdonald, a young label with a sharp eye for casks. This 6 year old Williamson, from cask 316, was bottled in 2021. Sold as Williamson because it is teaspooned, a drop of another malt added to a Laphroaig cask so the distillery name cannot be used, the label reads blended malt. Williamson recalls Bessie Williamson, who took over Laphroaig in 1954.
An ex-Bourbon cask and 6 years shape Laphroaig's coastal, medicinal character.
At its natural 56.4%, the bourbon cask adds vanilla. The profile runs to a medicinal edge, a mossy note, citrus, a coal-gas edge, fresh fruit, a hay-like note.
