Description
Best Dram is a German single-cask specialist. The cask was filled in 2014 and bottled in 2024, a 10 year old Williamson, from cask 249. Williamson is the code for teaspooned Laphroaig: add a spoonful of another malt to the cask and it must be sold as a blended malt rather than under the distillery name. The name nods to Bessie Williamson, Laphroaig's mid-century owner.
Held in Palo Cortado for ten years, the cask steeps the tarry medicinal core in dried fruit.
Bottled undiluted at 62%, a dry, nutty Palo Cortado depth runs through. Expect dried fruit, a medicinal edge, a nutty note, a sherried character, smoke, chocolate.
