Williamson 2012 MBl (Meadowside Blending)

Meadowside Blending is an independent bottler. This 9 year old Williamson, from cask 162, came off the stills in 2012 and was bottled in 2021. in The Maltman range. The Williamson name marks a teaspooned Laphroaig, a cask carrying a token spoonful of another malt that disqualifies the single-malt label. It honours Bessie Williamson, the first woman to own a Scotch distillery, who ran Laphroaig from 1954.

Nine years in ex-Bourbon frame the iodine-rich spirit.

At 54.4%, undiluted, vanilla rises from the bourbon wood. It carries citrus, cooked fruit, dried fruit, a fragrant note, a kippery edge, a leafy lift.
