Description
The Whisky Jury is a respected Belgian independent, a single-cask label with a devoted following. Filled in 2010 and bottled 2020, the whisky is a 10 year old Williamson, from cask twj-Lph02. Sold as Williamson because it is teaspooned, a drop of another malt added to a Laphroaig cask so the distillery name cannot be used, the label reads blended malt. Williamson recalls Bessie Williamson, who took over Laphroaig in 1954.
Matured in ex-Bourbon, ten years carry the distillery's medicinal, briny peat.
At its natural 53.1%, the bourbon oak lends vanilla. On the palate, a leafy lift, a medicinal edge, smoke, vanilla, a rubbery note, tobacco.
