Description
The Whisky Jury is a respected Belgian independent, a single-cask label with a devoted following. Filled in 2010 and bottled 2022, the whisky is a 12 year old Williamson, from cask 06017. Bottled as Williamson because it is teaspooned, a Laphroaig cask with a spoonful of another malt stirred in, which makes it legally a blended malt. The name honours Bessie Williamson, the first woman to own and run a Scotch distillery.
Held in Oloroso for twelve years, the cask steeps the famous Laphroaig smoke in dried fruit.
At 52.3%, undiluted, raisin, fig and a savoury nuttiness from the Oloroso. The profile runs to chocolate, a coal-gas edge, dried fruit, leather, a medicinal edge, an oily texture.
