Description
The Finest Malts is an independent bottler. A 13 year old Williamson, from cask HHD #4801, this was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2023., part of the Flowers series. Bottled as Williamson because it is teaspooned, a Laphroaig cask with a spoonful of another malt stirred in, which makes it legally a blended malt. The name honours Bessie Williamson, the first woman to own and run a Scotch distillery.
Matured in Oloroso, thirteen years wrap the tarry, iodine-laced spirit in the cask's character.
At 53.9%, undiluted, the Oloroso brings dried fruit, fig and walnut. It carries a coal-gas edge, dried fruit, a medicinal edge, an oily texture, a rubbery note, smoke.
