Description
Sexywhisky is an independent bottler. This 11 year old Williamson was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2021. Williamson is teaspooned Laphroaig: a Laphroaig cask given a token spoonful of another malt, which bars the distillery name and makes it a blended malt. The name honours Bessie Williamson, Laphroaig's owner from 1954 and the first woman to run a Scotch distillery.
Eleven years in Palo Cortado layer the cask onto the brine-soaked peat smoke.
At its natural 52.6%, the Palo Cortado brings a dry, nutty, lightly saline note. Tarry smoke and sea-salt, unmistakably south-shore Islay.
