Williamson 2010 MSWD Càrn Mòr Strictly Limited (Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers)

Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, the family firm behind the Càrn Mòr and Mac-Talla ranges, prizes variety through careful cask selection is an independent bottler. A 10 year old Williamson, this was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2021. in the Càrn Mòr - Strictly Limited range. Sold as Williamson because it is teaspooned, a drop of another malt added to a Laphroaig cask so the distillery name cannot be used, the label reads blended malt. Williamson recalls Bessie Williamson, who took over Laphroaig in 1954.

Ten years in Oloroso draw the cask's fruit into the brine-soaked peat smoke.

Bottled at cask strength, 47.5%, the sherry cask gives dried fruit and a nutty edge. Expect smoke, dried fruit, a kippery edge, a leafy lift, a mossy note, an oily texture.
