Wilhelm Weichsellikör

Wilhelm Weichsellikör is a fruit liqueur from Wilhelm Spezialitäten, a family business on the Styrian Apple Road in Austria with over 30 years of work in natural gourmet products. It is made from selected, ripe sour cherries, which give the liqueur its intense, authentic flavour and a balance of fruitiness, light acidity and harmonious sweetness, and it is bottled at a gentle 18% ABV. Sour cherry liqueurs of this kind keep a brighter, sharper fruit edge than sweeter stone fruit styles.

The nose offers fruity juicy sour cherries with a hint of almond, the palate is intensely fruity with the natural acidity of the cherries balanced by a pleasant sweetness, and the finish is velvety and long with a fine fruity aftertaste. Behind the bar it brings fruit sweetness, a natural cherry acidity and deep red colour, which makes it a fruity accent in cocktails and long drinks, a cherry lift in stirred and shaken builds, and a partner to desserts such as panna cotta and chocolate cake. It is also fine neat. Serve it chilled or over ice to show the sour cherry freshness.
