Wild Tiger Special Reserve

Wild Tiger Special Reserve is a four year old Indian rum bottled at a gentle 40 percent and matured in ex bourbon, made from a blend of pot and column still spirit. It sits firmly at the soft, sweet end of the category, an approachable release built around dessert like flavours rather than structure or funk.

The ex bourbon ageing and evident sweetness give a rounded, almost liqueur like character. The nose shows vanilla, caramelised notes and an alcoholic bite, the palate turns very sweet with vanilla, dried fruit and caramel, and the finish carries vanilla, honey and coffee. The body is light and the overall impression simple and sugary. Honest about its sweetness, it lines up with flavoured style rums and dessert pours, and is best enjoyed that way or as a mixer rather than as a rum to explore for depth or distillery character.
