Description
White Oak Tokinoka is a blended whisky from Eigashima Shuzo, produced at the Hyogo distillery that has held Japan's oldest whisky licence since 1919. Released for an event market at 40% in a 500ml format and carrying no age statement, it sits within the Tokinoka blend line that has become one of the more visible Eigashima expressions internationally. As with other Eigashima blends, some component spirit may be sourced.
Ex-Bourbon maturation supplies the honey, vanilla and new wood notes that anchor the flavour profile, with the medicinal and vegetative notes adding an unexpected dimension alongside a citric edge. The combination makes this event bottling more layered than the standard Tokinoka would suggest, with an unconventional profile that distinguishes it from the typical bourbon-cask blend and reflects the variable character that can appear across different bottlings in the range.
