Tinnashrule 1.1 is the Germany exclusive release in Waterford's market allocation programme, part of the 2021 initiative that gave five European markets their own dedicated Single Farm Origin to follow over successive editions. Distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2021, the release is notable for an unusual cask profile that departs from the standard Waterford combination. Every bottle carries the TÉIREOIR code linking back to the specific farm, soil analysis and cask records.

Maturation used three cask types including first fill American oak, Château Margaux barriques and Sauternes casks. The Château Margaux component brings premium Bordeaux first growth influence with concentrated anthocyanins and finer grained tannins than standard French oak. The Sauternes casks, previously used to age the botrytised sweet wines of Bordeaux, add honeyed fruit, apricot and a distinctive oxidative character from the noble rot derived sugars. First fill Bourbon contributes vanillin and coconut lactones through the charred inner wood. Bottled at 50% without chill filtration or added colour.

The nose carries honey, plum and mint chocolate. The palate brings warm spice with fresh fruit, vanilla and a subtle medicinal edge.
