An unaged Long Pond overproof under the heavy TECC mark from Warehouse No. 1, bottled at 63%, a raw ester bomb of glue, nail varnish and acetone over overripe pineapple, citrus and cacao, fierce and funky.
Description
TECC is one of Long Pond's highest marks, sitting near the Jamaican ester ceiling, and this Warehouse No. 1 bottling shows it unaged and at full overproof. Long Pond is the historic Wedderburn house of Trelawny, and this is its wild, polarising side captured raw at 63%.
With no cask to soften it, the spirit hits hard: glue, nail varnish, tropical fruit and medicinal notes on the nose, then a palate of glue, tropical fruit, ester and nail polish, with overripe pineapple, citrus and a flash of cacao. The finish stays medicinal, fruity, molasses-tinged and hot. Certified unsweetened, this is unapologetic high-ester funk, glorious for drinkers chasing the most solventy end of Jamaica. It shines cut with water or built into a powerful Daiquiri, a fierce, fun ester bomb rather than a sipper for the cautious.
