Vol d’Ànima de Raimat Blanc 2025

Vol d'Anima de Raimat Blanc comes from D.O. Costers del Segre, made by the Raimat estate near Lleida in inland Catalonia, a property farmed organically. The wine blends Albarino, Chardonnay and Xarel-lo, three grapes that each bring something different: Albarino gives freshness and a saline note, Chardonnay adds body and stone fruit, and the local Xarel-lo brings structure and a citrus backbone. Costers del Segre is a continental region far from the sea, with hot days and cold nights, and that wide swing helps the young fruit keep its acidity and aromatic detail. This is made as a fresh, early drinking white, fermented cool and clean in stainless steel with no oak to keep the primary fruit to the fore. The colour is pale straw with green tints. The nose is green apple and white peach, with pear, white flowers and a light melon note. The palate is dry and crisp, the three grapes giving both fruit and structure, closing on citrus and a clean, faintly saline finish. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees.
