Velier Neisson Cuvee Chai 2 Vevert 2016 is a single cask agricole from the small Neisson family distillery, selected by Velier and bottled at full strength. It pairs one of Martinique's most admired family houses with the bottler most associated with uncompromising, additive free single casks.

Distilled from fresh cane juice on a column still and matured four years in ex bourbon oak under tropical conditions, it shows how quickly Caribbean heat builds structure. The nose is floral and nutty with coconut and spice, the palate vanilla, tropical fruit, wood and spice, and the finish runs to leather, oak, tropical fruit and tobacco. At 56.8 percent it adds intensity and spicy, tannic grip without losing the grassy, floral charm of Neisson, an unsweetened cask for drinkers who want the house style with more power.
