Pagos 2024 is Velier's Hampden release matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 52%. Velier is the most prestigious name in collectible rum and a long standing Hampden partner, and Pagos is its sherry led exploration of the Trelawny distillery's pot still spirit.
The Hampden ester core stays intact but is wrapped in dry Oloroso influence: tropical fruit and pineapple meet dark berries, nuts and a light smoky, roasted edge, finishing nutty and woody. Built on long wild fermented molasses and bottled unsweetened, the sherry here adds savoury depth rather than sweetness, giving a fruity, earthy, faintly umami character.
