Patrimonio pairs two of rum's most respected names: the Foursquare distillery in Barbados and the Italian bottler Velier, whose shared purist outlook means full proof and nothing added. This is a 2004 vintage taken to fifteen years, the classic Bajan marriage of double retort pot still and column rum, here matured with a sherry influence.

Bottled at 58% with no added sugar, colour or flavouring, it leans dry and structured rather than sweet. Cocoa, coconut, vanilla and spice carry over firm but balanced oak, with the sherry adding dried fruit and depth and only a gentle sweetness. There is real power here, a spicy, wood driven wave that some find robust and faintly saline, and it stands up to air and time in the glass. A step up in intensity from the standard Foursquare range, aimed at drinkers who want the distillery's elegance with more grip and a drier, sherried edge.
