Velier Diamond Demerara Rum Coffee Still 1975

Velier, led by Luca Gargano from Genoa, is the most prestigious name in collectible rum, famed for old Demerara releases. This Diamond was distilled in 1975 on a Coffey continuous still and matured 21 years in ex-bourbon before bottling at 46%.

A continuous still gives a lighter, more refined spirit than Guyana's wooden pot stills, and at this age the profile turns gentle and layered. Expect fresh and dried fruit, soft spice, a natural sweetness and seasoned wood notes, the mark of long maturation rather than additives. Molasses based and drawn from a vintage now decades gone, it is a quietly elegant slice of old Guyanese distilling from a defining bottler.
