Velier Casimir Clairin Ansyen is a Haitian clairin, the village cane-juice rum that is agricole in spirit but cannot use the protected word. Distilled at Casimir from fresh sugar-cane juice on a pot still with wild, spontaneous fermentation, then rested 21 months in ex-bourbon oak, it carries a 2016 vintage and is bottled by Velier, the most respected name in collectible rum, known for full-proof, additive-free single distillery rums.

No formal tasting notes are recorded, so expect the clairin house style rather than a fixed promise: turbo-charged funk over a grassy, briny cane core, here softened slightly by short oak ageing. Bottled unsweetened at cask strength, 49.2%, it is an intense, characterful pour for neat sipping or a high-impact Ti' Punch.
