Velier bottled this Caroni single cask from the 1996 vintage for Kirsch Whisky, drawing on Guyana-stored stock from the closed Trinidad distillery that Velier's finite, tropically aged casks turned into legend. At twenty years, single cask and unsweetened at 62.4%, it is one of the standout heavy Caroni bottlings, full proof and deeply concentrated.

The molasses spirit, matured in ex-bourbon oak in the heavy marque, opens on wood, rubber and glue with a notably round character. The palate brings leather, tar, tropical fruit and dark chocolate, with the finish staying long on leather, tar, wood and toffee. The industrial DNA is all here, tar, rubber and garage notes, but it is balanced by caramel, citrus and mint into something genuinely complete.
